Use Of Computer

The computers i will be comparing for the numbers assignment are the Dell Studio XPS, and an iMac. I personally would use a computer for listening to music and going online to sites such as you tube. It would rarely be used to play a game that wasn't a flash game.

Net Neutrality

1. The term "Net Neutrality" is a term that simply means the internet and everything in it would move at the same speed, downloads and video sharing would all move at the same speed. Everything would be the same.

2. The 4 freedoms are
-Freedom to access legal content
-Freedom to use applications of users choice
-Freedom to attach personal devices to computers at users homes
-Freedom to obtain service plan information

3. Some problems we could face if the net wasn't neutral would be slower sites depending on what plan one was on, and higher prices for what we already may have with some plans.

4. The large telecommunications companies are against net neutrality because they believe that there is to much bandwidth being used by to many people, they want to create more space for use on the internet. Plus who wouldn't want more money right?

5. The net neutrality issue effects cell phones now because the majority of cell phones, usually newer ones all have the ability to go on the internet and stream videos and music and pictures just like a computer. This is creating more use and less space thus creating slower speeds for others.

6. My opinion is that the net should stay neutral because I look at the price tag. The internet is fine to me at the moment in my opinion, and that change that some of the telecommunications companies want would just add more money to the price tag and to my that's not what i want. I personally don't play a lot of games online and I would much rather have more money in my pocket.

Joel Tenenbaum

Joel Tenenbaum is a graduate student that was brought to trial for his peer to peer file sharing of 30 songs.
This case affects all people who illegally download music because this particular case could and may be used as an example on how judges could prosecute others who illegally download music.

This case may affect apple and other legal music distributers because with the increase of illegally downloaded content, the prices may raise on these sites to keep up with the loss of profit. Also the artists of the music may demand more money from apple or other legal music distributers because they may feel that they are getting cheated by illegal sites, so they will attempt to make up for it with the legal sites.

Cohen vs Rosemary vs Google

I think Cohen should be able to sue to find the identity of the blogger only if the blogger somehow had knowledge of certain personal information of Cohen's and posted it on their blog. But in its current state with there being name calling i personally don't believe that Cohen should be able to sue over this.

This is my opinion because i personally find it annoying to hear stories of people suing over little matters like name calling, or an example could be the hot coffee ordeal with McDonalds a few years ago. I feel Cohen suing google for the name of the blogger was a waste of time for the courts and lawyers.

I personally do believe that Rosemary should be able to sue google. This suing was not a waste of time in my opinion

This is my opinion because Google released personal information to the Courts over a case that i believe to be a waste of time and money. Now Rosemary's identity is out there when she originally thought she could stay anonymous. This is all because Cohen couldn't take name calling and threw a temper tantrum.

This case may affect me simply because we now use Google's blog site, which is where this lawsuit and trouble was originally posted on, this site. The face that google did release Rosemary's name means that identities for bloggers on this site may not be 100% safe anymore. It may change people's opinions as well as my own on what one would post on one's blog.
